Zoya Chegusova was born on July 31, 1953 in Kiev in the family of a doctor-scientist and a lawyer.
In 1975 she graduated from the Kiev State Art Institute (KGHI, now the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture) with a degree in theory and history of art.
In 1979-1982 she studied at the graduate school of the Kiev Zonal Scientific Research Institute of Experimental Design of Residential and Public Buildings (KyivZNIIEP).
From 1975 she worked in the department, and over time in the Research Center of monumental and decorative

in the position of junior researcher, senior scientist, deputy head of the Center (until 2003).
1989-1992 - Lecturer of the course "History of foreign decorative and applied art" in KHHI.
1996-1998 - a teacher of the same course at the Kiev Slavic University.
Since 2003 - Researcher of the Department of Fine Arts,
since 2006 and to this day - research associate of the Department of Decorative and Applied Art of the Institute of Art History, Folklore Studies and Ethnology named after M. T. Rylsky NAS of Ukraine (IMFE NASU).
Since 2003 - member of the editorial board of the journal "Ukrainian Art" (“Ukrainian Style”),
since 2006 - the magazine "Visual Arts" (“Imaginative Mystic”),
since 2007 - Fine Art magazine.
Since 1984 - Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (NUAU),
since 1989 - member of the bureau, deputy. the chairman of the section of criticism and art history of the KAHCU, an honorary member of the section of arts and crafts of the KAHCU.
Since 2001, a member of the International Association of Art Critics AICA, since the same time - Scientific Secretary, and since 2005 - President of the Ukrainian Section AICA.
2006 - Awarded the National Taras Shevchenko Prize of Ukraine for the book-album “Decorative Art of Ukraine at the End of the Twentieth Century. 200 names "(“The decorative art of Ukraine in the twentieth century. 200 name).
2007 - honorary title "Honored Artist of Ukraine."
2009 - Diploma of the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the UN "For significant contribution and promotion of Ukrainian culture and art

68 articles by Z. Chegusova in encyclopedic publications of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine were published 34 articles in annual scientific collections, almanacs and 40 introductory articles in art albums and catalogs.

In total, she published 236 articles in periodicals.
A significant contribution to Ukrainian culture is the monograph by Zoya Chegusova “Decorative Art of Ukraine in the end of the 20th century. 200 Names ”, which became the first stage of an art project of the same name, of which it was the author of the idea and curator.
The second stage of this art project has been implemented - a large-scale exhibition “Contemporary professional decorative art of Ukraine. Transformation of the image "in the halls of the Ukrainian House in Kiev, which with great success and wide media coverage was exhibited in June 2003
The exhibition, which presented more than 1,000 exhibits that were seen by 6,000 spectators, was recognized by experts from one of the largest cultural and artistic events of the beginning of the 21st century.

The book of Z. Chegusova and the exhibition in the Ukrainian House received high state recognition: by decree of the President of Ukraine dated June 9, 2003, this art project was given the status “Under the patronage of the President of Ukraine”, after which it was included in the action plan of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Already in May 2004, it was presented at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Ukraine’s membership in this high international organization.
The art project that impressed Europe with the masterpieces of modern professional decorative art of Ukraine was recognized as one of the best among those exhibited at UNESCO over the past 30 years.
After a while, this art project was developed and continued in the next author’s project by Zoya Chegusova, entitled “Songs of Love”.
The author carried it out as president of the Ukrainian section of AІSA in collaboration with the National Museum of Ukrainian Folk Decorative Art in Kiev (2008), which was attended by 100 leading Ukrainian artists of professional ceramics, glass and textiles.
Significant success and enjoyed international

Among them - “Flowers of Ukraine (tapestry, watercolor)”, first exhibited at the Information and Cultural Center at the Embassy of Ukraine in Paris (April-June 2007), and then, at the invitation of the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the United Nations, York in connection with the celebration of the 16th anniversary of Independence of Ukraine (September 2007).
In general, over the period of 2000-2015 Zoya Chegusova was implemented in Ukraine and abroad 20 large-scale art projects, in which she acted as the author of the idea and concept, organizer and curator.
Since 2004, Zoya Chegusova is the author of concepts, curator, member of the organizing committee and jury, author of introductory articles and compiler of the First, Second, Third, Fourth All-Ukrainian Triennale of Art Textiles under the auspices of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (2004, 2007, 2010, 2013 .)
