Biography and information

German painter and engraver on copper, has spent most of his life in Augsburg and a former starting in 1759, the Director of the local art Academy. Student first XP. Resch, in Ulm, and then I. falcke and Rugendas, in Augsburg, he devoted himself to the image of domestic and wild animals among the landscape, and has achieved a rare perfection in the transmission of types, nature and movement of deer and wild boars; figures of horses and wild animals he less successfully.
