Description of the artwork «THE CATHEDRAL OF THE ASSUMPTION»

"The assumption Cathedral" was the first grown-up work of the author. It was created from 1989 to 1991, in parallel with more experimental work. The model most accurately reproduces the proportions of a real architectural monument in Kharkiv (Ukraine) (in a complaint, had pictures of all the main parts of the structure).
Initially, all components, except the domes, created from painted matchsticks. The walls were not collected separately, and were built layer by layer up. The dome was fashioned not of clay, and hardens plastic. The pattern on them was shaped with a thread, after which the dome was covered in bronze and silver êðàñêами, repeating the original coloring.

Beaded crosses, ornaments made of straw, beads, glass beads and jewelry have appeared after updating the work in 2000
The greatest difficulty in this work amounted to playback of picture frames on a fairly large number of window openings. During the creation of the work, the problem was solved with the help of pictures of real frames and doors.
Later, when you create a new version of the same Cathedral, started in 2003, photos were replaced by printouts of computer graphics.
This work is part of the collection of the exhibition the Miracle match (Boors of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, the world).
