Biography and information

Arkady A. Lurie (09.02.1916 – 1990) – known graphic artist and book Illustrator, the drawings of which grew more than one generation of book lovers. During his life he was able to illustrate more than three hundred books. Lurie successfully collaborated with many Soviet publishing houses: "Voenizdat", "Children's literature", "Goslitizdat", "Young Guard", "Baby", "Detgiz", "Goskomizdat" and some others.
If you write about the biography of the artist, then we should start with the fact that he was born Arkady Alexandrovich on 9 February 1916. From 1933 to 1939 he studied at the Tbilisi Academy of Arts, Department of graphics. His first teachers were Professor O. A. Charlemagne and E. E. Lansere. Arkady Lurie always well studied and finished school with honors.
In 1932 he became a graphic artist, Sakhis.
In 1933 Arkady started cooperation with the Georgian magazine "athlete of the Caucasus" and "Nangi".
In 1936 he became a member of the Union of artists of Georgia.
In 1939, the Department of Culture of Georgia sent the artist into a postgraduate course in Moscow state. V. I. Surikov in Moscow. Where he successfully studied with professors D. S. Moore and N. Uh. Radlov until 1941. At the beginning of the great Patriotic war, he volunteered for the front.
In 1947 he became a member of mosskh, and in 1961 joined the Union of journalists of the USSR.
Arkady Lurie has collaborated with many magazines: "Youth", "Knowledge is power", "Around the world", "Worker", "Farmer", "Murzilka", "Ogonyok", "Smena", "Soviet military".
All his works are particularly subtle emotion and careful reasonableness of each of the written image. They seen the flawless composition. All images that are created Lurie, have their own lively and unique character.
The last years of his life Arkady held at his dacha in Pushkino near Moscow.
Died Arkady Lurie in 1990.
