In 1959, along with by the artist Kim sicovam by A. I. Frolov went North Russia at Onega. A lot of sketches, written in the North, gave later material for such famous paintings, A. I. Frolova as "Northern village", "Forest lake", "rafters Village". The accuracy and the touching truthfulness of paintings Frolov was achieved by his tireless work with sketches from nature. "Landscapes are no less complex than any other genre, - said Alexei Ivanovich, - especially the lyrical landscape. In nature every moment is unique. Color, lighting, condition - all need time to catch and capture". A. I. Frolov literally traveled all over the country. Traveled North, visited Fergana, the Kuban waterway met the river, proceeded and traveled many lands of earth. And every journey became the artist in the creative business, where he brought dozens of sketches and paintings. The result of travels in Central Asia began its work "Bazaar in Fergana", "Village Shafter", "Mountain Charkesar" - they are all dated 1955. Having been in 1977 on a creative summer residence in the Krasnodar Krai, Alexey writes a series of paintings: "Hot Key. Night" (1977), "The Mountain. Hot Key" (1977), "A Sanatorium. Hot Key" (1977), "Cuban landscape" (1977), "the Mountain flower" (1978). In the 60-ies - 70-ies of the last century, despite the fact that in the art world of the Soviet Union was not very welcomed by the image of churches, Alexei Ivanovich Frolov creates a series of landscape works depicting temples and monasteries. On his travels to historical places of Russia can be judged by the titles of the works written as a result of these trips: "Torzhok" (1965), "Dome Rostov the Great" (1968), "the Belfry of Rostov the Great" (1968), "the City of Gorokhovets" (1979), N. Novgorod. The Cathedral of the Annunciation" (1987), "Murom" (1988), "on the seat. The Cathedral Of The Nativity Of Christ" (1989), "St. Basil's Cathedral" (1995), "The Village Frolishchi" (1996), "V. Novgorod. Saint Sophia Cathedral" (1999), "Kostroma. The Trinity Cathedral" (2003), "the Trinity-Sergius Lavra" (2004), "the Solovetsky monastery" (2004). And the above is only a small part of the work, caloriecount dedicated to Church architecture. Exhibition of these works entitled "Russia white stone" was released only in 2004 and was timed to the 75th anniversary of the author. The theme of Pushkin in painting Frolova - a separate big topic. The poet was close to the artist. He often visited Boldino, Mikhailovskoe. And every time I visit these places, sought to capture and convey in color Pushkin's attitude to the sense of nature. Thus was born the cycle of his works, "Boldin On the ground," consisting of more than four dozen canvases. And in 1999, the year of Pushkin's jubilee, was opened by the exhibition of these landscapes, which was a great success.
