"A lush rosebush, which grew behind the fence of one of those beautiful houses in the Shiryaevo village have grown so big that it climbed over the fence... begging me to put its flowers into a vase))). And to get on my canvas after all! It was so beautiful to paint them at dawn on the sunlit veranda! My soul sang with joy as the sun was rising! Each petal of each rose is executed with my palette knife in a voluminous way... There is so much passion and tenderness in these red roses!"
