Description of the artwork «Bældæræn boons.»

Бæлдæрæн - one of the holidays of the spring cycle of the Ossetian agricultural calendar. A holiday, when all the nature comes to life and the plants are filled with the juices of the earth. Therefore, it is forbidden to cut wood.
It was celebrated all week beginning from Sunday, a week after Kuadzan - the holiday of the end of a two-week fast after the spring equinox. He was engaged in a communion feast with the slaughter of the sacrificial animal and petitions to the agrarian patrons: Huitsamææ æmæ Wacillam about the sending of a plentiful harvest, preserving and multiplying livestock, as well as Hädes Ura Barægmæ-Hjædy zædmæ, so as to save from fire and wind.
Бæлдæрæн was one of the most cheerful Ossetian holidays. It was believed that in Bældæræn you can not be sad, sleep during the day and do bad things, otherwise it will be the whole year. Bældæræn was a public holiday, for which residents of other villages were not allowed, except for people from their village.
