Description of the artwork «Spectator and hero»

In my work, I wanted to reflect the problem of television as a mass, universal phenomenon, its relationship with a person bordering on interpenetration.
At present, the trend of the main media is such that the line between the spectator and the hero is completely blurred, the first can easily become the second, and also be in two forms simultaneously. Thus, in the depths of the flow of information and new images it is impossible to distinguish between them, and the viewer and the hero are completely absorbed by the TV screen.
Television at the end of the 20th century became a new religion and a new Colosseum. It gives the person imaginary fame, however, depersonalizes it, turning it into a lifeless totem mask that is not endowed with individual traits. The lies and falsity of television only underscore this masquerade, where the celebration and brightness of the commedia dell'arte are replaced by the unification of everyday life.
The amount of information that falls on a person every day can no longer be adequately perceived, so it simply turns into noise, nothing, eternal prevention on all TV channels. And a man has nothing left but to put on a mask and plunge into the TV-abyss.
