Description of the artwork «The Duchess Of Orleans»

Presumably the author's rough copy of the painting of French artist Elisabeth-Mary-Louise Vigee-Lebrun (French manners abbreviated Vigee-Lebrun) 1742-1842 . the last of the main works by Elizabeth-Louise vigée Le Brun from the French Revolution. Written in 1789
The picture shows the Duchess of Orleans, Louise-Marie-Adelaide de Bourbon. Her father was the grandson of king of France Louis 14.
One of the versions of the portrait of the Duchess of Orleans, the artist has performed on the Board, not on canvas, which creates an incredible subtlety in the details of the hand, the transparency of the clothing, the expression of the opinion of the Duchess.
The Duke of Orleans died in 1999, and the collection of historical sovereigns was offered for sale by the heirs of count de Paris in 2015 Banque de France bought the painting presumably for 1.8 million euros. Currently the original is in Versailles. France. There is another copy of the portrait in the musée de Longchamp in Marseille. The paintings are a national treasure of France, forbidden to export from the country.

Louisa Maria Adelaide de Bourbon, Duchess of Orleans, also known as Mademoiselle de Penthievre (FR. Louise Marie Adélaïde de Bourbon; 13 Mar 1753, Paris — 23 June 1821, Ivry-sur-Seine) is a French aristocrat, the daughter of the Duke Penthievre, the grandson of king Louis XIV. Since the death of his brother, the Prince de Lamballe, she became the most wealthy heiress in pre-revolutionary France. She married the Duke of Orleans, who then became a "citizen" Philippe Egalite, was the mother of the last king of France, Louis Philippe I. Mademoiselle de Penthievre is the last representative of the dynasty of Bourbon-Penthievre.

Other elements: the hands, the hat is made in the draft, without sufficient drawing details. According to experts of management of culture of Russia Marching I. The painting had been restored, arranged on a new canvas in 2014, the restorer of the 1st category of the Nizhny Novgorod state art Museum Korotaeva Marina Lvovna.
Presumably in Russia the picture came in the postwar years, was probably brought from Europe in 1945, in collapsed form, as indicated by numerous damages of the structure of the fabric. The second in Russia, the owner of this painting purchased it at a pawn shop, because I rated it high artistic value.
