Lineobject

Why artist, exploring the boundaries of mediality, image and memory. He started in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan), organized a group exhibition of independent artists "presence Effect" (1998, Studio Museum) and "emergency exit" (1999, DK im. V. Lenin), which formed the creative group Bronepoezd. Group shot short films that the artists called "cenobyte". Lineobject starred an old Soviet movie cameras on expired 8mm film. the process for taking, developing and mounting lineobject artists carried themselves with improvised means. As a result, the films have gained a strange quality – interference of the developer and cut, sound noise, man-made titles. It turned out truly a quality of the object, something made by hand. Narratives lineobject was determined by the range of interests and beliefs of the authors, usually involving a romantic achievements of the modernist project – the opening of the avant-garde, democratic freedoms, human flight into space, etc.
