Jeanne A. Melkonian was born 05 may 1948 in the city of Leninakan (now Gyumri) in Armenia. In 1973 he graduated from MGTI — Moscow state textile University named after A. N. Kosygin, faculty of applied arts. The teaching staff is comprised of outstanding masters of painting and graphics: E. Zernov, F. Antonov, A. Chistyakov, A. Laktionov, Vitello, D. Dubinchik, Vladimir Kulakov, Kornoukhov, Kozlova T., Nazarov, M. Mertsalova, R. zacharzewska, Domogatsky V., V. Kozlov, I. Merkulov, G. Manizer, B. Burmistrov. Diploma thesis at the international exhibition of fashion "Pret-a-Porte" in Budapest was awarded the gold medal.

With 1977 worked as the art Director, costume designer on a permanent basis in the Studio "Mosfilm". Many of the films with the participation of J. A. Melkonyan won prestigious prizes at international film festivals and are the pride of Russian cinema. Sketches for the films and costumes of Jeanne Andreyevna was presented Studio "Mosfilm" for filming "Largest Studio in the world" (France).

In 1990, Jeanne A. Melkonyan was invited the chief artist of the first costume project "history of Russia", organized by the Moscow city Council of people's deputies, the Ministry of culture of the RSFSR, and the Moscow city Committee on culture. Awarded a measure of Moscow.

Melkonian J. A., participant of numerous exhibitions in Russia and abroad. Paintings, drawings, sketches for the films are in the collections of the State Tretyakov gallery, in art museums and private collections in USA, UK, Italy, France, Malta, Germany.
