Ostretsov Anatoly Alexandrovich, 1931 - 2015
Member of the Samara branch of the Union of Artists of the Russian Federation.
He began to paint as a child of 11 - 12 years old. In 1948 - 1966 he attended the first Samara painting studio under the direction of A. A. Lyubimov; also studied with I.P. Tsibulnika. Since 1966 he worked as an artist in the club of the Kuybyshevsky ball-bearing factory, as a graphic designer in the park named after N. A. Schorsa, as well as wrote advertising posters for the cinema "Artistic" (Kuibyshev). Since 1972 - director of exhibitions at the Kuibyshev branch of the RSFSR art fund, then (until 1988) - director of the exhibition hall of the Union of Artists. He was actively involved in portrait-style pencil graphics and full-scale sketch work. Since 1972, director of exhibitions at the Kuibyshev branch of the USSR Art Fund; Since 1980 - Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR / RF.
During his creative life, he repeatedly participated in numerous city, regional, zonal and international exhibitions. He made several foreign creative trips: to Bulgaria, France, Poland. His paintings are in the collections of the Samara Regional Art Museum, the Heritage Gallery in Syzran, the Museum of Fine Arts in Grozny, in a number of private galleries, in numerous private collections in Russia, Italy, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Poland, Great Britain, the USA, South Korea, China, Japan, including in the collections of a number of famous public and political figures, such as the ex-patriarch of all Russia Alexy II, the ex-pope John Paul II, the ex-president of Russia B.N. Yeltsin, the ex-chancellor Germany Erhard Schroeder.
Anatoly Ostretsov worked in the genre of classical Russian landscape, in the traditional manner of artists of the era of Russian asceticism and in the style of impressionism. The main theme of his works is his native nature, the Volga, the forest and the Zhiguli Mountains, the Russian village and the urban motifs of old Samara. His works convey various states of nature and urban nature, differing in their characteristic softness of presentation, tenderness of color, generalizing texture in the study, and optimal detailing of the constituent elements in the completed paintings.
