In each of the paintings there is a lock-symbol of unrevealed secrets and desires. In the picture is youth, the castle is at the heart, which means that a young man is concerned about heart issues (love, passion, emotions), at maturity the castle hangs on the leaves growing from the staff on which the traveler rests, the staff is his experience, knowledge that help along the way, but with time the path traveled (experience) itself creates questions. In the picture of old age, the castle is larger, and still closed, with the age of issues more, more regrets and not understandable in the soul of every person.
From the head of a young man there are growing branches-thoughts going in different directions, but one main goal indicates to him the right path on it and the key is hanging, which should give him what he wants. At maturity, the key carries a hummingbird over his head, but despite the fact that he is about to get it, the key is still not reached. In old age, the key hangs on a branch of a plant that has struck the clock, it winds towards the sky, and it is stronger than time, it is the wisdom and knowledge of not one person, but of humanity (on the branches of the letter - Armenian, Hebrew, and Latin). An owl of experience and wisdom, she sits on a shield and symbolizes people who, with their exhortations and lessons, try to protect the young man. Hummingbirds are a symbol of the transience of life and at the same time a symbol of eternity (when flying, the hummingbird flaps its wings and draws an inverted figure of eight in the air) eternity consists of moments. The bird of paradise is the thought of old times (for any elder, the memory of youth is paradise).
Youth is not yet on its feet, he is still preparing to embark on his path, he is wearing a mask - bauta, he is dressed like wars, as he prepares for battle for his principles and his own happiness, he sits on fresh grass and waits in the wings. Maturity, he is on the way, the image of some kind of wandering musician, the grass under the hero's feet has become less. Old age, the image of a wise man in thought, the ground beneath him is dry and lifeless, only fresh shoots slightly embrace him, symbolizing the life behind him behind.
