Wolf_PAPA (Sergey Popov) was born in a family of circus trainers, people's artists of Russia Alexander and Nadezhda Popov. Since childhood, Sergei traveled extensively in the former Soviet Union, touring with his parents. Moving from place to place, he graduated from general education and music school.
After the collapse of the USSR and until the mid-2000s, Sergei, most of the time, lived with his family and worked in Western Europe. At this time, he visited the leading museums of the Fine Arts, which made a strong impression on him. From this moment Sergey became interested in painting. But, as he continued to tour continuously, he did not have the opportunity to get an artistic education and attend master classes. At this time, he tries to independently study the basics of painting from books and textbooks, copying the works of Great Masters, actively visiting the galleries of France, Germany, Spain, Holland. Over time, Sergey developed his own style.
At the beginning of the 2000s, Sergey has a new hobby - music. He was a member of several rock bands, as a vocalist and keyboard player. He writes music for circus acts and short films. Painting at this time goes by the wayside.
In 2005, Sergey returned to Russia and began working independently as a trainer in a circus. In 2006, he entered the troupe of the Corner of Grandpa Durov Theater as an animal trainer of wild animals and as a dramatic actor. One by one, he creates new numbers in which he performs, not only as an author and performer, but also as a director. His youthful passions in painting helped him create sets for his performances, which he developed independently. Parallel Sergey graduated from Moscow State University of Culture and Arts with a red diploma.
When Sergey got the wolves, he devoted himself entirely to the main craft - the work of the trainer. I had to forget about music and painting for a while. The exception was the participation in the competition of street artists "Madonna" in August 2011, where Sergey and his team received the audience award.
In 2016, Sergey again takes up the brush. In many ways, this contributed to his wife Irina, who strongly supports the creative hobbies of her husband. Sergey invents a new drawing technique and takes the pseudonym Wolf_PAPA.
