Description of the artwork «FACE OF WAR»

conceptual meaning: “No matter how they covered the war, and no matter how it looked, it consists of innocent lives

The product has an extraordinary property to change colors and facial expressions, depending on the change of lighting. The portrait has many characters in which one can see fatum, fear, pride, cruelty and hatred, regret and confusion, readiness to destroy the world (by pressing the "button") or even stand before God's judgment for their actions. In fact, this portrait symbolizes the emotional diversity of the war.

In total, the installation has about 5000 shells of different calibers for different types of weapons used in the line of fire.

Each element that makes up the portrait could have taken or saved the life of a soldier, one way or another, to be his destiny.

Thus, on the canvas you can see a mystery saturated with the energy of war, consisting of its primary elements: gunpowder, lead, steel, bronze, brass, copper and zinc, in an amazing combination with oil and acrylic paints.

The picture calls everyone who takes up arms to think about the role of bloody political ambitions in the history of civilization and that there is nothing more valuable than human life.
