Railway station. Expectation.

Painting, 2003, 80×60 cm

Description of the artwork «Railway station. Expectation.»

Station - a strange territory where space-time is curved. A lonely man, having nothing to make drank coffee with his gaze is still there, outside the window. The lights blur the glass. Belated passengers are carried away by a blue trolley, the last random .. Thoughts revolve in the circle of problems and events left. But they are already behind impenetrable glass, and the force of their attraction weakens. This is the event horizon of an abandoned, already alien world. Time slows down, almost stops. Ahead of languor of expectation.
A station is a failure in space: not here, but not there at all. The most uncomfortable condition. The ghosts of this void glide from right to left, not defining either the design of the picture or its plot .. In this timelessness, the best thing is to eat something and sleep - maybe it will live somehow by. Ghosts do not sleep and vigilantly monitor their territory - hold on tight to your belongings! The merchant woman flickers in the dim light. Only the child does not need longing. Where is he looking? What are the dreams of the coming man? Bright windows with tempting temptations? .. A hardly noticeable star outside the window? .. A tired mother habitually plans his bright future.
Time slides forward 30 years, to the forefront. The predatory things of a century of consumption hold our heroes tight. Life goes on in a dream.
