Description of the artwork «Stephen's dreams»

The first thing you see when you get to the exhibition "The Service Character of Dreams" - a swarm of butterflies pulling us further. Take a closer look: each butterfly is special, it carries its own dream ... or a dream (dream). Resorts, beautiful clothes, expensive decorations, pictures of family comfort or natural beauties - your dream can soar under the ceiling. But it is impossible to grab it - the string is carried away into the room and inexorably disappears into the "black hole". Stephen’s Dreams is a dedication to the physicist, the largest researcher of black holes, the popularizer of science, Stephen Hawking, and all whose thought power and desire for truth are so strong that they overcome any physical obstacles. This work also echoes Jean-Dominique Bobi’s autobiographical novel "The Space Suit and Butterfly," which describes the experience of a man whose mind and imagination were locked in a paralyzed body.

"Are there keys in space to unlock my spacesuit? ... Amid the newfound silence, I can listen to the butterflies flying in my head. It takes a lot of attention and even concentration, as the flapping of their wings is almost imperceptible. To drown them, enough noisy breathing. However, this is amazing. My hearing is not improving, and yet gradually I hear them more clearly. I must have got the ear of butterflies. "
