Living and non-living space

Painting, 2020, 39×29 cm

Description of the artwork «Living and non-living space»

Tears flowed in a stream and, finally, became so heavy that the droplet with them fell off the fence and fell into the grass that grew under it. The grass was cold and thick, but a bit lucky. Instead of being smashed to smithereens, she fell onto the leaf. It was small and very delicate. Apparently, too, was just born. He hesitated, but the drop stayed on its surface. And she calmed down. The droplet was born in the morning. When it was still dark, a small speck appeared on the old fence. The fence was as old and black as the darkness itself, and therefore could not be seen. And the droplet glowed. She collected light from the dark before dawn, piece by piece, and emitted it. It was, for now, a faint glow, but it was increasing. Slowly, it grew. The fence was very happy about this. He also wanted light. But he was insatiable. No matter how much you feed him, he was still not enough. And, most importantly, it has not changed. He remained black all the time. And the droplet immediately noticed it as soon as it appeared. She collected the rays of light bit by bit, and he took them away from her. She had only a small particle left. Not only that, he quietly but angrily creaked: “Collect, collect. All the same, I will take all the light from you. And you melt as soon as the sun rises. " And the droplet had no choice but to tremble with fear. She felt with her little heart that it would be so and she felt so bitter that she began to cry.
Dawn was breaking all around, and the droplet began to glow brighter. Because it got bigger and bigger. She felt good on a piece of paper. The leaf was moist and kind. He also needed light and moisture. But he did not demand them from the droplet. He just grew himself. But, unfortunately, very slowly. And the drop felt that a moment would come, and it would fall again, as it fell off the fence. She understood that the leaf did not have enough moisture for growth and shared it with him. Everything was all right now. The droplet grew in one direction, and the leaf in the other, and they nourished each other with their tenderness. Thus, living space grew under a dark fence to overcome it.
When the sun came up, it saw that under the fence was growing fresh grass, covered with large drops of dew. The sun smiled and began to bake the fence. But he did not understand anything, remaining dark and angular.
