Alexander Semenovich Goryachev (05/19/1939 - 05/21/2016) - painter, muralist, teacher.
Born in Nerekhta Kostroma region. In 1959 he graduated from the Yaroslavl Art School. In 1965 he graduated from the faculty of monumental painting of the Moscow Higher School of Industrial Art (b. Stroganov).
He taught at YAHU (1973-2000).
Participant of regional (Moscow, Yaroslavl), regional, republican, all-Union and foreign (Germany, Japan) exhibitions. Exhibitions of works by Soviet artists (Poland, 1966-1967).
Solo exhibitions - Yaroslavl (2001, 2010, 2014).
Member of the creative association "Province".
Works are in museum collections in Yaroslavl, in Russian and foreign private collections.
Among all the genres of painting the artist preferred the landscape. He created a series of paintings "Historical Yaroslavl", in which he recreated and reconstructed memorable, recognizable places of his native city: as they could be in times gone by. A series devoted to the 1000th anniversary of Yaroslavl.
