Ivanovna Varfolomeeva

Russia • 1919−1998
Born into a peasant family, she worked on the collective farm in the fields, later as a painter and plasterer. Started painting at the age of 55 when she retired. At first she copied reproductions, then moved on to independent compositions. The main themes of Varfolomeeva's works are peasant holidays and occupations, impressions of childhood.
