Tatyana
Shagova

Tatiana Shagova (1948 - 1994) embodied the image of the disgraced seventies. Shagova is one of the most significant masters of Leningrad expressionism. Her characters are traditional for the Russian artist "little people" most often - women, lonely, forgotten, struggling with poverty. Her brush moves her love and compassion for them, sometimes reaching the point of a kind of frenzy. The artist is one of those who could not adapt to the new post-Soviet times. She passed away unnoticed at the age of 46.
