Anastasia Berlin was born in Moscow in 1987 into a family belonging to a distinct bohemian circle of the time. Her father was an art aficionado and collector. At one time, he was the creative mind behind secret gallery pop-ups across the city. Surrounded by the world of art since her childhood, Anastasia, even before graduating, had in-depth knowledge of painting, illustration, and craftsmanship. Her education has been enriched by all various forms of art. First; at The Moscow State Academy of Choreography, then at drama school, and later at the Moscow Architectural Institute. However, painting has always remained her true love. By understanding plasticity and movement, not only from the artistic point of view but also from hands-on personal experiences, Anastasia formed the basis of her the style of painting seen today. Flirting with 20th-century avant-garde, she brings something of her own - deep feelings, nostalgia, expression, mysticism, and attention to the subtlety of the psychological world in the depicted image.
