Description of the artwork «Rabbit»

Stretched canvas, 50x50 cm, oil and acrylic.
The rabbit is a victim of violence. A cute little creature, enclosed in an invisible cage, from which only 4 metal rods are visible to the human eye, appears to be defenseless before an unknown spectator threat. The red spot below hints at the terrible fate of the animal. The dial, barely visible behind the head of the rabbit, serves as a sign indicating the transience of time.
The picture can also be perceived as an environmental manifesto about the harm caused by man to nature. The rabbit is, as it were, in the sight of three yellow triangles resembling a sign of radiation hazard.
Francis Bacon's paintings inspired the work
