Kherson artist Petrov Georgy Petrovich OLD HUT IN THE GARDEN (Paper-watercolors). Size 19 * 26 cm. Born on January 19, 1927 in the city of Engels (st. Pokrovsk) of the Saratov region. Graduated: Saratov Art College (1953). Teachers in the specialty: Arkhangelsk M.O., Shcheglov I.M. Painter, watercolorist, master of genre painting, landscape and still life. He worked in the Kherson Regional Society of Artists (since 1954). Member of the National Union of Artists (1973). Diplomat of the Ministry of Culture and Arts of Ukraine and NSHU (since 2002). Participated in exhibitions: city, regional, republican, all-Union, international and personal exhibitions (since 1955). Major works: “Still Life with Spikelets” (1974), “Milk in a Green Jug” (1975), “Bread”, “Kherson Watermelons” (1975), “Autumn Catch” (1981), “Rural Still Life”. Triptych “Bread” (1982), triptych “Memory of the last war” (1985): “Hard years”, “Memory”, “Gifts of the front”; series of works “Tiraspol impressions”, “Autumn in Sedniv”, “Spring in Saratov”. “Song of Sails”, “Awakening”, “Karasi and Carps”, “Hoarfrost”, “Windy Day”, “Aspen”, landscape series “Monuments of Culture and History”, Catherine’s Cathedral, a monument to Howard, Berislav’s church, a castle in the village of Cossack. The artist’s works are stored in the collection of the Kherson regional KhM them. A. Shovkunenko, in other museums of Ukraine and private collections in Europe. He lived and worked in Kherson since 1955. He died in 2014.
