Biography and information

She was born in the city of Tbilisi. From 1984 to 1988 she studied at the School of Arts. I. Nikoladze and at the Faculty of Painting of the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts in 1990−96.

The female theme prevails in the works of Maya Ramishvili. Beautiful, graceful and sophisticated heroines play a primary role in them, radiate femininity, captivating the viewer with the magic of their attractiveness and mystery.

Maya Ramishvili fills her works with a kind of "pattern". Her backgrounds, in particular, resemble textile collages, in which every detail is carefully worked out.

The works of Maya Ramishvili can be attributed to a new era in contemporary art, which has established itself as the Georgian avant-garde. Despite the fact that the features of the modernist wave are noticeable in her work, the classical foundations are also clearly visible: the art of Maya Ramishvili appears as a timeless synthesis of the old and the new.

Maya adds a little "retro" to her art, endowing it with tact, refined artistic stylization, striving for harmony and beauty, which do not contradict at all, but emphasize the uniqueness of the characters.

Maya Ramishvili is actively sold in Europe, has many admirers of her work, and is also in the collections of private collectors. Her paintings are indisputably recognizable and unique thanks to the artist's technique. Maya is exhibited annually both in Georgia and in England, Ireland, USA, Europe and Russia.
