Nikolai Nikolaevich Umanets was born on December 7, 1931 in the city of Millerovo, Rostov region. In 1958 he graduated from the Leningrad State Pedagogical Institute of Lviv. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. Participant of zonal, republican, all-union art exhibitions. He worked as an artist, and then as chief artist at the Krasnodar FFZ "Chaika".
