Vranin

Vranin (born 1994) was born and lives in Moscow, where he received his philological and art history education. He defines his work in the aesthetic-philosophical program of caligism (from lat. Caligo - haze). One of the main ideas of this new direction in art is the statement of the fragility and symbolic nebulousness of modern culture, which has experienced a kind of End of the World. Many images, themes and formal-meaningful features of the author's work flow from this idea. The main direction of visual art in which Vranin works is crystallography invented by him. The artist creates an image by growing crystals of various shapes and colors, investing in this process not only time and energy, but also certain feelings and ideas. Based on the technical features of the crystallographic process, nature itself acts as a co-author of the artist.
