Biography and information

Since her childhood, her mother instilled a sense of beauty - she took her to museums, art galleries, theaters, vernissages, although it was not always interesting. At the same time, the elegance of lines and nobility of female images by K. P. Bryullov and V. L. Borovikovsky were memorable and resonated in the soul of the future artist Olga Shkodu.

After school, Olga dreamed of going to the Surikov Moscow State Academic Institute, but her parents considered the veterinarian profession to be better, although her attraction to beauty and desire to convey her vision of the world through painting remained. Olga did not stop drawing throughout her studies at the veterinary academy, but did not see herself as a professional artist.

The thorny path to creativity was through various courses and lessons, including the basics of the interior design profession, as the idea of creating paintings for interiors kept the future artist busy. To improve the skills and greater immersion in art, Olga decided to go to study painting professionally and received a second degree - a teacher of fine arts and drawing.

About 4 years ago, Olga became acquainted with the Ink Art technique and working with ink absorbed her completely, putting aside the oil and brushes.

The artist herself says: "I became interested in how I can convey the very beauty of nature, clouds, plants, the human body, architecture and emotion - in the Ink Art technique. I like the lightness and watercolor technique, its airiness, partly uncontrollability - it is not possible to make an exact copy of a finished painting. There is always an element of novelty and liveliness, because you work with two streams - a stream of flowing ink and a stream of air, combining their interaction into an interior painting. Flowers and herbs in the ink technique come out alive, and the curves and lines of the human body are fascinating."

In 2020, Olga presented her Ink Art works to the public for the first time, and they aroused genuine interest.

Olga Shkodu's main areas of focus in the Ink Art technique are floral, although abstracts and landscapes are also present.

In the coming years, participation in group exhibitions is planned and preparations for a solo exhibition are underway.

"I am now clearly aware that painting is what I live my life by. It's my destiny." - said Olga Shkodu.
