Description of the artwork «A team of climbers conquer Mount Everest»

Mount Everest (also known as Mount Chomolungma) is the highest mountain on Earth above sea level, up to the present time is 8848.86 meters, it has decreased in height by 2.4 cm after the earthquake in Nepal April 25, 2015 and has moved 3 cm to the southwest. Considered the roof of the world, the oxygen levels on Mount Everest are very low, the temperatures are extremely cold, the weather is unpredictable and extremely dangerous. However, many adventurers from all over the world dream of conquering Everest. The first attempt to climb Everest was in 1921, when a group of British explorers tried, but a violent storm caused the group to cancel the journey. In 1922, the second British expedition group returned. This time, the expedition team climbed to an altitude of more than 8,000 meters. However, this group also had to give up due to lack of equipment and oxygen. It was not until 1953 that Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay officially became the first people to set foot on Everest. In late 1953, Edmund Hillary was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II, and Tenzing Norgay was awarded a medal.
