Pantaleon Schindler studied in Warsaw in the class rysankova artist Rafal of Hodzevich. Was a scholar based painter Wojciech Gerson, a Polish organization of artists "Association for the protection of works of art". For scholarship money Pantaleon Schindler continued his studies abroad. In 1870-1873 he studied painting at the Munich Academy, then the Academy of St. Luke in Rome, and in 1874-1875 — at the Paris School of fine arts. After returning to Poland he lived in Warsaw (in the years 1885-1894); later — Czestochowa, worked in a Catholic monastery, Jasna góra, where he built his own school of painting.
