Anastasia Kirillova was born in St. Petersburg in 1983. She has been drawing and painting since childhood under the guidance of her father, Alexander Teterevkov, an artist, photographer, professional structural engineer and a great lover of art.
Later, Anastasia studied with Larissa Berlin and Vitaly Valge.
She graduated with a degree in History of Western European and Russian Culture from St. Petersburg State University (2008).
Deep cultural and historical basis is a characteristic feature of Anastasia's exaggerated and decorative style. The artist's reality is composed of the details of everyday life, mixed with images born by the art of old masters and equal to them in power of influence. Thus, the usual subjects of life are transferred to the plane of classical art and the daily routine is given a semantic and emotional coloring.
"Stylistically, the artists of the Paris School are closest to me. The old masters of northern Europe and the art of the European Middle Ages inspire me. I love people and cities. I appreciate man-made beauty. My favorite genre is portrait in the urban landscape. The combination of the human image with man-made urban beauty is for me a true, visible reality of the soul. Of man, of the city, of the universe.
Anastasia works in different kinds of fine arts: painting, graphics. One of her favorite techniques is collage.
