Illich Isupov (1939)

Born February 28, 1939, in the city of Guryevsk, Kemerovo Region, Russian Federation.
Graduated from Odessa Art School (1961), Kiev Art Institute (1969). Teachers by specialty: Y. Yegorov, Y. Sadilenko, K. Trokhimenko.
The artist is a muralist and graphic artist. Since 1990s he used author's technique (paper, watercolor, ink, gilding). Author of mosaics, murals, monumental and decorative ceramics. The main facet of the artist's work defines the emotional nature of the feminine in the "nude". In the smooth lines of textures, slow rhythms of composition embodies the theme of love. Dramatic images of lovers are characterized by sharp jagged silhouettes, energetic rhythms of compositions from nervous expressions of form. Laconic silhouette ink drawing harmoniously combines with the textured pictorial background of the composition in the form of semi-relief pulsating divisions.
Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (1985). Worked at the Kiev factory of monumental and decorative art (1971-1990). On the creative work. Semi-owner of the gallery of contemporary art: "Triptych" (Kiev, 1988). Participated in exhibitions: republican, all-Union and international (since 1970). Solo exhibitions - in Kiev (1987-2009), Washington (1992-1994), Budapest (1992), Riga (1994), Cincinnati (USA, 1995), Frankfurt am Main (1996), London (2000), Tokyo (2001). His main works are ceramic panels - "Holiday" (1978), compositions - "Ships" (1984), "Vandalized shrines" (1988), decorative sculpture - "Nelly" (1986), spatial plastic - "Judith" (1989), graphic series - "Women" (1990-2009), "Park of sculpture and rest" (1996-2007), "South Bank" (2002-2009). The works are kept in NMUNM, Sumy Art Museum. Lives and works in Kiev.
