Description of the artwork «Chaos»

The volumetric picture is made of isolon of different thicknesses, colors. It is soft to the touch. The material is non-toxic, does not burn out even in the sun. The size of the painting is 100x100cm. Isolon is a foam material, used for hydro and electric insulation, but has found its application in art. This work was inspired by a trip to the Crimea and a visit to the Vorontsov Palace. On its territory any visitor can find attractions such as Small Chaos and Big Chaos. There is a legend that this is what our planet looked like at the time of creation, just a huge pile of huge stones. The pile of rocks symbolizes the disorder and randomness from which everything originates. Everything, including our planet. That's when the idea arose to convey this chaos, but the material for the painting had to be something random, not bought on purpose. So in the studio there was a piece of plastic and scraps from making rose flowers from isolon and foamirin. The picture is interesting because it has 4 viewing sides and each time the observers try to find some associations and guess what is drawn on the picture.
