Soviet graphic artist, illustrator, poster artist. Member of the Leningrad Union of Artists. Author of a series of easel paintings devoted to Lenin.
Born in the village of Olshana, Chernigov Province. Studied at Kiev Art Institute (1930) and in the studio with M.A. Rutchenko of the Association of Artists Red Ukraine (1930). Member of the Association of Artists Red Ukraine. In 1930s he painted portraits of Soviet leaders, illustrated books. During the Great Patriotic War, like many artists, performed patriotic posters - bringing victory over the enemy "Komsomoltsy! Study persistently the military cause! Fight the enemy bravely and courageously until total victory!", "Forward for our victory" (both -1941). In the postwar years, collaborated with the publishing houses "Izogiz" and "Soviet Art. Performed a number of propaganda posters on social and agricultural themes: "More widely implement the method of AV Potekhin!" (1953), "Experience of E. A. Sigachyova - all pig breeders! (1955), "Worthily meet the XXI Congress of the CPSU!" (1958), "Rationalization - the way to increase labor productivity!" (1958), "Live, work and learn communist!" (1959), "Study, implement the experience of innovators!" (1960), "Our Wealth - to the Joy of Brothers and Sisters" (1972). His series "Portraits of Russian Writers" was printed on postcards in 1953; he performed a series of posters for the set "Pioneer Heroes" (1985). S. M. Bondar's posters are in the scientific library of the Russian Academy of Arts, the State Museum of the History of St. Petersburg, the State Memorial Museum of A. V.
