Konstantinovich Shindykov

Born on October 15, 1914 in the village of Korgish, Yaroslavl County. Graduated from Yaroslavl art and pedagogical technical school (1933). In 1935 he joined the Yaroslavl branch of the "Association of artists", two years later he was elected its chairman. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR (1938). During the Great Patriotic War he worked in Yaroslavl branch of "Okon TASS", created propaganda posters. In 1943-1952. - Chairman of the Yaroslavl branch of the Union of Artists of the RSFSR (now the Yaroslavl regional branch of "Union of Artists of Russia"). From 1943, systematically participated in regional, republican, all-Union and international (Germany, 1949; England, 1973) exhibitions. Solo exhibitions were held in Yaroslavl in 1964, 1971, 1976 and 1984. Paintings are in the collections of the State Russian Museum (St. Petersburg), the Shchusev Museum of Architecture (Moscow), in museum collections in Yaroslavl and the region, Kostroma, Orel and Krasnodar, in private collections. He was awarded the medal "For Valorous Labor in the Great Patriotic War, 1941-1945" and two prizes at the Republican contest "Russian antiquity" for his landscape paintings (late 1940s) and a diploma of the USSR Council of Ministers Committee on the Arts (1946). Died on September 6, 1970.
