Maria Markova was born in 1977 in Leningrad into a creative family. Her creative destiny was greatly influenced by her meeting with Maria Thieme-Block, a famous artist and professor at the Academy of Fine Arts. In 1999 and 2001 Maria was an honorary recipient at the annual Edinburgh ceremony. Her solo exhibitions have been held in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Paris, London, Beijing, Tokyo and other cities. Maria currently lives in France and works as a graphic designer, taking the pseudonym Mary De Marko. Her works are in the Sosnovoborsky Museum of Modern Art and private collections in different countries.
