Description of the artwork «"Russian Life. Polyptych" Canvas/oil.»
In my work I tried to create not just a painting, but a kind of "portrait" of the Russian people, reflected through everyday objects. This is not an easy task, because every detail - from a samovar to a wooden spoon - is not just an object, but a carrier of history, symbols and traditions.
Each object in my still life tells about the life of past generations, how they worked, vacationed, raised their children.
I would like the viewer, contemplating my work, to plunge into the past, to remember their childhood games and traditions, perhaps even the smell of a wooden toy or the taste of freshly brewed tea. These memories contain not only the aesthetic value of still life, but also its educational potential.
