The waves of glow led her down a corridor of intertwining roots and branches covered with soft, phosphorescent moss. The room she found herself in looked like an irregularly shaped hemisphere with corridors branching off in different directions.
On a pedestal in the center of the room was a giant flower, illuminated by a beam from the dome of a window in the ceiling. The silhouettes of fish and sea creatures could be seen through the murky glass.
As she approached the flower, she discovered that it had its own shimmering glow emanating from it. Each petal was a map of the starry sky, with planets and stars orbiting in space.
When she touched one of them, the whole card moved. The petals lifted from their bases and began to rotate in front of Florence's face. Hundreds of new worlds surrounded her with their images, inviting her to go on a journey.
