During his travels Dmitry Grachev begins to form a special creative manner as a bright and distinctive artist of the Moscow school of painting, his commitment to the cult of color and bright emotional style of writing. The exposition of the first personal exhibition also includes a cycle of his graphic works ("Rimini", paper/pastel, 50/65, 2008, "Moscow #6", paper/pastel, 65/50 cm, 2006), characterized by fresh colors, freedom and relaxed author's stroke, creating a sense of awe and genuine naturalness of the artist's artistic manner.

The last decade in the work of the young artist appears a series of cityscapes, filled with intonations of apocalyptic moods. ("Paris", х/m, 130/130 cm, 2010). Programmatic for this cycle of works can be considered a landscape of "Moscow" (x/m, 80/100 cm, 2011). The flaming, threatening glow in the night, hidden by the silhouette of one of Stalin's high-rises, the dark contours, almost indistinguishable to the eye, like ghostly harbingers, turn a real city into the tragic phantasmagoria of the artist.
