In a world without sin

Ausstellung 7 Dezember 2022 − 10 Januar 2023
december 7, 2022 year in Davydkovo Gallery Moscow Exhibition Halls Associations together with the "Museum of Russian Lubok and Naive Art" Department of the Ilya Glazunov Gallery art exhibition opens "In a world without sin."dedicated to animalistic images in naive art. In the halls of the gallery there will be paintings as well as naive wooden sculpture.

Naïve art is one of the art movements of the XVIII-XXI centuries, including the visual work of self-taught artists. Naive painters are of increasing interest among artists, art connoisseurs and painting enthusiasts. After all, they are great self-taught artists, incredible toilers, nuggets and oddballs.

Images of animals have long been firmly embedded in the world of folk art - through myths, fairy tales, fables, wooden sculptures, paintings, etc. Their images were used to describe the world of people, their orders and customs. Animals often transferred human character traits, creating a special animalistic symbolism: lion - bravery, strength, power, justice, fox - cunning, etc. Animalistics as a genre in the history of art is often associated with symbolism and allegory, figuratively describing the world.

It would seem that Naiva artists, who are accustomed to being painters of joy and harmony, in their desire to harmonize the world should often turn to animalistics, but no, this is rare! And these rarities can be seen at the exhibition "In a World Without Sin.
