Dementeva

Lubov Dementieva is a designer who works with famous brands, and at the same time an artist, who comes from Nizhny Novgorod, and whose creative path began in childhood.

"I've been drawing since I was a kid. Since a year, to be more specific.
By the time I was a year old, I was grabbing pencils and pens, felt-tip pens, whatever was handy, and scribbling in my mother's prescription book. More on napkins, notebook pages, and just A4 paper."

Ink pens, pens, pencils - this trend has not only survived to this day, but has multiplied, as napkins have been replaced by canvases, and pens have basically replaced paints. Experiments with styles and shapes. Perhaps that's how you can characterize her work.

"I got my employment book when I was still in school, and I was always looking for different ways to earn money, I was interested in trying new things."

Maybe it also takes its roots from childhood, but one fact is that in these works, sweeping, expressive oil strokes are replaced by neat lines from canvas to canvas, and sometimes both are present in the same composition, where there is a piling up of colors around the clearly drawn out figures, and the transition from thin layers to thick has clearly defined boundaries.

The works are sensual. They evoke emotion in one way or another, and it is as if they are about emotion. You don't have to look at them with a magnifying glass, through the prism of academic style; you have to feel them, highlighting your own accents.
