Born in Krasnoyarsk, 1972 in Borovichi. He graduated from the historical faculty of the Novgorod state University and with honors from the design Department of the Novgorod regional College of arts. Rachmaninoff. Since 1993 works as a teacher from the art Department Borovich children's school of arts. A. K. Lyadov.

Personal exhibitions: in Borovichi six exhibitions between 1993 and 2002.g.; in Novgorod(1994-2000); n. Coniferous (2000).; the town of Chudovo (2003).

Alexander Petrov – the participant of many regional, zonal and regional exhibitions ( six exhibitions in 1998 – 2005.g); the international exhibitions, Binghamton(USA,2001,2003), Suolahti( Finland,2001).

The artist's works are in the State Museum of art culture of Novgorod region, in numerous private collections in Russia, USA, Finland, and Poland.
