In all centuries of human existence on Earth, humans have sought to expand their habitat and explore new, previously unknown territories. the 20th century was marked by an unprecedentedly large-scale event: man's departure beyond the atmosphere of the planet and landing on the Moon.
The 21st century is upon us, and the new horizons of space beckon explorers to their frontiers. The seemingly unrealistic project of Mars exploration is gaining momentum. Now all the efforts of scientists and engineers are focused on preparing a manned mission to Mars. Male and female crew members will be the first inhabitants of this planet. Mars will become a new home for them, and it is possible that scientists have plans to conceive and give birth on Mars to the first representative of humanity, the first child - a Martian.
My painting is dedicated to this great beginning, this bold step into the future, and to that baby whose home will be another planet in the solar system, not Earth, but Mars.
In Christian religious tradition there is one of the most revered icons, the Icon of the Holy Trinity. The enlivening of the human body with the Divine spark of life, the filling of the heart with love and compassion is the moment of the first breath of a newborn living Man.
I very much hope that Adam, the first man born on Mars, will receive all this grace into his human heart and continue the tradition of Love in his new Martian home!
