With the support of the Consulate General of Poland in Lviv and the Mariush Kazan Foundation, an exhibition "is held in the art gallery of Geri BowmanSkochilyas. Polish woodcut". The exhibition offers to familiarize yourself with the Polish wood engraving. This unique style of Polish graphics of the interwar period of the twentieth anniversary is represented by the graphic works of Władysław Skočilas, one of the most popular Polish artists of the 20th century, who is called the creator of modern woodworking. The exhibition was previously exhibited in New York.
Vladislav Skochilyas (1883-1934) Polish engraver and painter. He studied at the Art and Industrial School in Vienna (from 1901) and the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow (1904-1906). Professor at the School of Fine Arts in Warsaw. His woodcuts on peasant themes, urban and rural landscapes are marked by expressive linear rhythm, decorative and coloristic searches.
