Nikolai Krichevsky. The artist and the world

Museum of the Ukrainian Diaspora of Kiev presents a solo exhibition “Nikolai Krichevsky. The artist and the world "dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the outstanding Ukrainian-French painter, master of watercolor, a representative of the famous Krychevsky artistic dynasty. The exhibition includes works by the artist, made in various directions, both from the collection of the Museum of the Ukrainian Diaspora, and the National Art Museum of Ukraine and several private collections. Within the framework of the exhibition project, the album “The Artist and the World” is presented - the first large-scale publication about Nikolai Krichevsky.

At the exhibition you can see the earliest and rare works of the master - pastels, created in the 1920s in Uzhgorod and Prague, watercolors of the 1930s, painted in different parts of France. In these works, the search for the individual style of the artist, the formation of his characteristic technique and palette, is visible.

Nikolai Krichevsky (1898 - 1961) - Ukrainian painter, graphic artist, theater artist. Born in Kharkov, received his education in Kiev. Since 1921 - decorator of the Russian Theater in Uzhgorod. He continued his education in Prague, graduating from the art of industrial and decorative school. In 1929 he moved to Paris. Took part in exhibitions in Lviv, Paris, Warsaw, Prague, Brussels, Rome.
