Christian Lemmers. Not me

Exhibition November 24 − December 29, 2018
In the modern art center "Tang man" an exhibition of German sculptor Christian Lemmerz "Not me". The exhibition presents a series of drawings, work in virtual reality, bronze and marble sculptures. With the help of works of art, the master creates a space that tells about both personal and universal human existence in this world. The content of the works of the artist revolves around the theme of life and death, will and oppression. Lemmertz noted that art has power in provocative opposition. Like the human body in phenomenology, sculpture affects feelings in such a way that work can be perceived as a visual and tactile challenge in a cognitive sense.

Christian Lemmers was born in 1959 in Karlsruhe. He studied classical sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Carrara (Italy) and at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. He worked as a set designer in “Brock” by Stephen Berkoff and “Peter von Kants” by Rainer Werner Fassbinder. Lemmerz recently returned to sculpture in marble. Participant of numerous exhibitions.
