. The project takes place in the framework of cooperation between the Ministry of Culture of the Chelyabinsk Region and State Russian Museum
The choice of the work for the “exhibition of one painting” is not accidental at all - this year there are two round dates associated with the singer, 145 years from the day of birth and 80 years from the day of death.
Boris Mikhailovich Kustodiev - famous Russian artist of the early twentieth century. In his portrait, Fyodor Ivanovich Shalyapin is depicted full-length in a rich beaver fur coat against the background of motley Maslenitsa festivities.
The original portrait of Chaliapin bought and took him with him to emigration to France in 1922. Now he is in the house-museum of Shalyapin.
In the Russian Museum - a reduced copy of the author, who arrived in Magnitogorsk.
