Beck meets Nolde. Inspiration and implementation

The Vienna Gallery Beck & Eggeling presents a special selection of exhibits from the exhibition “Herbert Beck meets Emil Nolde. Inspiration and implementation "which was held in the museum of Olaf Gulbransson in the summer and autumn of 2018.
Meeting with the great expressionist Emil Nolde in 1952 in Hamburg became a key event in the artistic career of Herbert Beck. Later he wrote that he did countless sketches, trying to achieve the same shining color as that of Nolde. The exhibition compares watercolors - the unsurpassed works of Emil Nolde and the expressive works of Herbert Beck. Both artists have always been committed to the goal, and the maximum possible expression in their paintings was the main goal of their work.
