Tang Contemporary Art Gallery in Hong Kong hosts a personal exhibition of Shen Lin
"The intensity of concreteness". The famous Chinese artist presented a series of oil paintings and works on paper. Her drawings are characterized by freedom and carefree innocence, as well as a spontaneous sense of chance and fragmentation. The trivial little things of everyday life are often the focus of Shen Ling. An infinite array of things is fully incorporated into a highly personalized, fictional, and almost fabulous micro-universe permeated with a sense of poetry. Poetic consistency stems from the depth and power of the artist’s personal emotional relationships with rapidly changing fragmentary microscopic realities.
Shen Ling was born in 1965 in China. She graduated from the oil painting department of the Central Academy of Arts. Now teaches at Afflicted High School at the Central Academy of Arts. In 1992, she held a joint exhibition with Taiwanese sculptor Yu Ming in Paris. The works of the author are in Chinese art museums and in private collections. Participant of numerous exhibitions.
