Nicholas Party Arches

Exhibition November 30, 2018 − February 24, 2019

The M WOODS Museum in Beijing presents a solo exhibition by the Swiss artist Nicholas PartyArches ". Painting, pastel, sculpture, video and installations of this author are distinguished by a deep sense of specificity and temporality. Thanks to a unique system of styles and colors for the artist, a modern understanding of traditional genres, such as still life, portrait, landscape and sculptural bust, arises. Clear forms, pictorial accuracy, bright color palette and a sharp look at the composition combine works that are accessible and seductive, but at the same time continue the long-standing artistic and historical dialogue between form and abstraction, observation and imagination.

Nicholas Party (b. 1980, Lausanne) lives and works in Brussels and New York. His solo exhibitions were held at the Magritte Museum in Brussels, the Museum of Modern Art in Oxford, the Hirschhorn Museum in Washington and other major institutions. The exposition at M WOODS is the first exhibition of his career in a non-profit institution in Asia and the largest to date.
